So, yet another long drought in updates. We've been busy and working like madmen here at Gerbil Cage. After a series of catastrophic hardware failures, we have fully recovered and hit Alpha about a week ago. Obviously we are behind on our desire to release in time for Christmas, but we feel the extra time is merited. The game is looking gorgeous, and we are getting ready to start closed Alpha testing. As a note on that, we still need some Alpha testers who can try the Mac version. Yes you heard me, our game will be released for both PC and MAC. So if you have a Macintosh and would like to see your name listed in the credits of Gerbil Cage's next release, head over to the contact page and send me the specs of your machine. If you match what we are looking for, we'll be in contact.

Hey all, just got back from BlizzCon (TM) or (R), and it was amazing. It's nice to take a few days to really get back in touch with the joy of being a gamer. Of course, Tenacious D live in concert didn't hurt the experience. A quick update on my projects. I'm currently working to hit alpha on a puzzle game slated for Steam release early December. Oh and my artist friend (John) and I have started an independent game dev group under which we plan to release our upcoming game. Gerbil Cage (TM) will be focused on providing affordable and highly polished games that challenge and entertain our fans. I'll be unveiling the details on the new game once I get the go ahead, but for now we are concentrating on getting the tech up and running. Also on the website progress, I've created a News Archives page to store all the old updates and clean up the home page. If you missed anything, or just feel like reading up on the past, feel free to check it out.

Made some good progress today on Faye. Her neck, face and skull muscles are done, so now I'm trying to decide if I should bother with the few visible muscles in the hands and feet, or just call the template done and start the polygon wrap... I'll decide tomorrow.

8:00 Update:
Okay, well its not to the point I was hoping, and I'll still be working on it more tonight in all likelihood, however; I promised I'd post up some screens of what I've got. So, head on over to my new Gallery page and check her out. I've got her in a standard gray lambert texture at the moment, mainly because I see no need to gross everyone out with realistic muscle textures at this point.

3:30 Update:
Sweet, both new Kaldosa pages are up, The agile Myn, and the brutal Slaad. Now then, on to the model. Just so everyone knows what it's going to be, I'm modeling the superficial endostructure sans bones, of an adult female. In English: what you would see if you pulled the skin off of someone and turned their bones invisible. Of course, that is not going to be the finished model, only what I'm going to get done today. The idea is that it is going to act as a 3D template around which I can wrap the skin. I haven't fully decided what she is going to be when I am done, but I'm thinking maybe a Laithan woman.

Ohayou Gozaimasu! Time for a marathon day. I'm planning on having two more pages of Kaldosa info and some screens of my model up by the end of the day. Which also means adding a gallery page to this site. Nice full plate of varied tasks, should be a fun day.

Hey everyone! I'm adding some modeling to the site sometime in the next couple days. Currently working on a muscle structure model. I'll post up some screens once I have something that looks human. Also I'll be adding at least two more details pages on Kaldosa races this weekend, so be sure to check back in and see what's up.

Alright, another section on Kaldosa up for your viewing pleasure. This time we are looking at the Laith, a race dedicated to the study of the arcane, and perhaps the most widespread race on Kaldosa. This is as close to a 'Human' as you will find in the world of Kaldosa. Enjoy.

I'm currently working on some design stuff for my next free release project, while simultaneously looking for paying work :) Also, the Krath racial information is now posted. Fierce and powerful, they are an excellent choice for players looking for strength and independence.

Added some preliminary info on the races of Kaldosa as well as some details on the pantheon. If your a fan of the world already it is probably already stuff you're familiar with, but have a look anyway, might be some stuff you hadn't realized. If you're not familiar with Kaldosa, this would be a good time to start looking at some of the base world info.

Memige Games goes Live! Welcome to all my fans, friends, and random passers-by! This site is going to act as a platform for releasing some of my free products, shamelessly pushing my purchasable products, and keeping my fan base up-to-date on what's happening in the dev cycles.

Apologies for the gap in updates, been hard at work on a top down scrolling shooter, akin to the old arcade games like 1942 and Midway. While I do hope to have a demo up before too long, today's update is some developments on Faye. Her head is done :D I'll be adding hair later, but I wanted to get the base structure down first. Feel free to have a look.

Ok, its been a long week, but Major strides have been made. Pop on over to the Gallery to see the latest on Faye. I'm very happy with how she is doing. At the moment, she is around 1600 polygons, and has all the correct edge looping. I just need to finish out the skull, hands and feet and she'll be ready to start rigging. Though I'll be passing her over to John to do some Z-Brush magic on her before she's completely done.
Also, I've made some good progress on the coding side. Using lua I've implemented a state machine, an animation engine, and a physics engine that all are playing decently nice together. After I've had a chance to test them thoroughly I plan to post the modules up here as open source before using them to make my next product.
